Scored Alpha AND Beta points - lunch at wife's office

I brought my wife lunch to her work last week, as I have done perhaps 3-4 times since September.  She works at a school that is only 2 miles from my office.  She is very well liked by her co-workers there, but this is only her second year there.  So while they all know her, most of them don't know me yet.  We both have a fair amount of flexibility in our schedules, so we occasionally get together for lunch.  It's like a little date in the middle of the day.  Sometimes we eat out, sometimes I bring her lunch.  This time it was nothing fancy, just McDonald's because it's on the way.  One of those premium chicken sandwiches, but it's actually really good.

We enjoy seeing each other and it always seems to add a little bonus energy to our relationship when we have lunch together during a work day.  I had always thought bringing lunch to her office was kind of a Beta thing to do, but in a good way.  I'm doing her a favor by bringing <providing> food for her, plus she gets to show me off to her coworkers.  I try to maintain frame (still learning) and I always go there wearing my business clothes (newly tailored, thank you MAP) and look pretty darn good (for me).  I am sure to stand up straight (I have life-long posture issues) and smile and make friendly eye-contact with people.  While she escorts me to/from her office her (all female) co-workers are very interested in meeting me, and are very smiley and happy to get to meet the husband of their co-worker.  They also know she's pregnant, thanks to me.  The front office ladies all get friendly/silly, (tell Mrs. "Pup" that there's someone tall and handsome here to see her) as do the other (all younger & cuter women) teachers.  There's something about women meeting/seeing the man that belongs to their friend/coworker that seems to give them some kind of "high."  It's like a fun change of pace for them and they get all giddy, I don't know why...

I always figured I am scoring good Beta points with the Mrs., and I am probably scoring some form of good points with her co-workers, which can't hurt.  If the coworkers think I am a great catch, they'll let wife know it, and cement the idea in her head.  It's only been a long-held Pup theory, until now.

Well last week wife provided confirmation that the co-worker thing works.  This was in my inbox when I returned to my office:

"It was wonderful seeing you for lunch. One of the teachers who you didn't meet saw you leave and she asked, "Is that your husband?" When I said yes, she said "He's dreamy...No wonder you are having a 4th child."  She's 28 and very cute so that should make your day.

I love you and I loved seeing you for lunch.  Thanks so much for visiting me at school :)

Love (Mrs. Pup)"

I resisted my Beta instinct to immediately respond and blab about how much I like visiting her too and how cool it was that a hot young girl is explicitly telling my wife how she understands why my wife wants to get fucked by me, and instead waited 20 minutes and wrote:

"It sounds like she has good taste in men.image smug">

To which wife responds:

"Of course she does"*;) winking

So I think I directly scored the Beta points wife my wife, and indirectly scored noteworthy level of Alpha points by presenting well and having my wife hear about it from a younger, hotter coworker.  My wife later mentioned the name of the girl, so I secretly googled...she's in 8-9 territory, even at 28.  It can't hurt to have wife hear from young hotties that they see the value in her man.

I'm curious if other guys/gals here have had similar experiences.

    ... Almost to a T...

My wife is also a teacher.  She is much farther away from my office though, so it's more than a quick jaunt.  However, when I do go her school, it's the same.  Admin staff teases her about a Mystery Man, etc.

Did you meet any of her students?  To me, meeting the other teachers and admin, that is the alpha opportunity.  But, meeting the kids, that's where the good beta lies.

Remember this for the end of the year, as she is stressing out and ready for summer.

I have met one or two of the students.  This is k-5 grade, so they are little.  The little girls seem curious/nosey, and the little boys seem a little intimidated.  But they all love her and feel very comfortable with her.  The one boy she had a scheduled meeting with last week saw me there in her office and turned and left right away, and she had to go get him and bring him back and introduce him.  He lost his father to brain cancer last year though, so he might have some issues.  They are all cute and innocent at that age, but I honestly feel a little out of place trying to interact with other people's kids at my wife's work place.  I just smile and say "hi", "nice to meet you", etc.

I've met the Principle and Vice Principle, both decent looking 50ish women.  Principle is idealogically aligned with me and my wife, and that makes for a lot of extra comfort/openness between them - given the rarity of women in the education field in this area to be anything other than liberal feminist Democrats.

I used to work as a teacher. I felt like my Alpha was waning, and realized I had to get out. It was tough working around nothing but women. I was stalked, hit on, followed, and flirted with on a pretty regular basis. It was tough as many were pretty hot.

Interesting that you would say you intimidated the kids.  My wife is a K teacher.

When the kids were coming back from lunch last time, they saw me in the room and I just stood there with a big smile on my face.  I could hear them talking amongst themselves asking if that was "Mrs. Seriously's boyfriend" and giggling.  She corrected them and said that I was her husband.  Then I took over the conversation, asking them their favorite things on the playground, and if Mrs. Seriously is nice to them, etc.  They thought it was hoot, then the questions started.  They all wanted to ask me stuff.  Anything from my favorite candy, to how many kids I (we) have.  It was actually a lot of fun, and my wife beamed for the rest of the day.

Come to think of it, I might be due for another visit in the next couple of weeks.  Thanks for bringing it up.

No, I'm not there to meet and greet the kids.  We have a private closed door (it has a very large window, nothing shady can be suspected) lunch, and I'm out.  Not a lot of interaction with the kids, which is fine with me.  I wouldn't know what to say, or slip up somehow.  :)

I can imagine that working in that school could be very challenging - to constantly get hit on by hot younger women @OneEyedDrunk ; Many teacher types are cute, caring, giving types too...good wife material.
