    I got two unexpected compliments in one day over a pair of socks, of all things.  I was wearing these socks with a blue dress shirt and navy pants. The first woman (a well-dressed lawyer) said she liked my "bold choice" of "brash color." The second lady said to her husband "Look at Cowboy's socks. I just love them. See, socks DO matter in how a man looks."

    Did anyone else have a flashback to this when they learned there is apparently a purple stripe in these socks?

    lower sock, starting on the left: grayish blue - brown with gold spots - teal/turquoise - brown with gold spots - pinkish purple - brown with gold spots...
