    If you search the forum for"acronyms" I think 4-5 threads will pop up.

    I had the same problem when starting here. Actually started a thread myself but can't find it now. It should be a Sticky really, that would be helpful. You can always ask and someone will "translate"

    Anyway here's a couple to get you started:

    @CallmeCat - Manosphere:

    Game:
    Bloggers and guys who did seminars and videos and books on "Game", a practiced and studied set of lines and behaviors and observations about alpha vs. beta, mostly advertised as a way to get laid. Some women sneered at it as a series of parlor tricks, fake, wannabe players, etc., however those same sources of derision (women's magazines, blogs, dating blogs) would be the first to tell you how to do your makeup, get a boob job, do a blowjob. It also became known that the large majority of guys who bought the books, videos and seminars did so to win over one particular woman, not to become players with a stable of fuckbuddies. Athol wrote that he originally started reading about it for the same reason - he didn't yet understand the need to bring novelty and play and some chase to the marriage, and was trying to learn some game to attract an EA friend into being more.

    Personally I don't see it as being any different than any other era of men teaching boys how to be men, or girls learning how to wear high heels or flirt and play hard to get.  "Game" blogs and books don't really aim for relationships, so they don't have any concept of good beta, in fact most are kind of sneering at any beta behaviors at all as all bad. Athol is really an outlier on that, which has earned him hate mail and worse.

    Men's Rights Activists/Advocates:
    This segment is largely a response to feminists, and the terribly lopsided treatment of men in divorce court, especially in cases where there was infidelity plus kids. I am old enough to remember when the situation was badly slanted in favor of men, and no fault divorce and a huge shift in the number of women in the workplace (among other things) almost completely flipped this from one bad extreme to another in just one generation. The MRA movement is an important balance to an out of control family court system, but it is also a very, very angry and bitter place (as are a lot of the feminist advocacy blogs and organizations). One of my favorite blog posts of Athol's is this one, talking about that pit of understandable but unproductive rage:
