    Funny: Yesterday in the office was a "shuffle all Alan Parsons" day

    Ambient and classical. Music for Airports by Brian Eno.

    I know, not very metal. But great for thinking and focus.

    I don't do metal, but I did create a Screamer band playlist

    YES YES and YES!  Wow, I haven't thought of Tangerine Dream in years...  Guess what will be playing through the headphones today?

    @Ms_Fit

    We are big Shovels & Rope fans in our household.  Their song 'The Keeper' reminds me of a bunch of my married couple friends where the husband works in the oil patch.

    The last few weeks have seen new releases by a trio of my favorite bands:  The Band of Heathens, Blitzen Trapper, and Kings Of Leon.   It feels like I'm in a musical timewarp to 1979, except it is all new music.

    @Ms_Fit,

    No, the album we've had on steady rotation is titled O' Be Joyful.
    I'll have to check that one out.

    Grimes...oblivion.

    Unusual

    We drive brand new cars and we light fine cigars,

    We shine like small town stars through the best days of our lives,

    Hold on before you see, that you’re better off without me,

    Unusual is a good way to describe it. Some cool songs on that album but I find I can only take her voice in small doses.

    Been revisiting the Raveonettes - Observator quite a bit lately.

    Also just because they're awesome, Alt-J:

    Handel's Messiah - am singing it with the symphony this weekend, so am polishing my part in my brain.

    Otherwise, am liking some Jason Aldean and Parmalee lately.

    Updated to Natalia Kills...

    Just another Saturday Night speaks to me..

    I promise I’ll be the one you want,
    Don’t tell me I’m unfixable,
    You don’t know what it’s like to be seventeen with no place to go,

    But give me just one night and I’ll be almost fine,
    Remind me one more time it’s the best days of my life,

    Cause when I look up from the pavement,
    I know I'm gonna be just fine,
    And I’ll put on my dancing shoes real tight,
    ‘Cause it’s just another Saturday night

    We drive brand new cars and we light fine cigars,

    We shine like small town stars through the best days of our lives,

    Hold on before you see, that you’re better off without me,

    Have been on a 70's country-rock kick lately, and ran across this gem from my favorite band in that genre.

    For your listening pleasure, a song about Outcome Independence (there are even Green Lights involved):

    A good, challenging piece. When I was in choir, I sang the tenor part once. The family didn't necessarily enjoy it, but when you finish Messiah, you feel like you've accomplished something.
