Arctic Monkeys are pretty good too.

How do you feel about Snow Patrol?

A lot of Gaslight Anthem and Frank Turner of late.
And Bob Mould, in all his forms. Going to see him play an acoustic solo show next month.

Snow Patrol is solid. I tend to just buy singles from them, however.

Acoustic is a good idea. I saw him live earlier in the year and it would've been a good night for earplugs. A little over the top.

He ticked me off a little by not playing "See a little light"....

    Love them.
    And Muse. Especially Hysteria.
And everything Soul. Bettye Lavette, such a voice!

    Arcade Fire, The Suburbs.

    Next up Arctic Monkeys.

Then I'm digging into this list:

Yep. But the highlight of the recent album is "Descent" I think.

I wonder if the line "I don't wanna play the song that gave them hope" is a reference to "See a little light". Then NOT playing it in concert makes some sense. But still..

Interesting list, thanks for the link.

Sometimes I think these folks are too clever for their own good, though. No way is "Hannah Hunt" the best track on the Vampire Weekend album, and therefore no way it should come in at #3. This is someone working a little too hard to be 'insightful'.

I tend to ignore the numbers/orders of any 'best of' list, but I like the possibility of finding new stuff to listen to!

One of my favourite 80s acts has to be Huey Lewis and the News.  Seems to reference a lot of the traits here.  Specifically when reading some of the posts around primary motivations, I get some of those tracks start up in the mental jukebox, or I fire up Deezer and play out Fore! again.
